3/4 Compact Marker Lights
Oct 06, 2009 - 5:39 PM - by abqtj
From Jeffro at Envy4x4

These come with the grommet included and ready to wire up. There's two wires, a power and a ground, so it's fairly simple. You just need to decide what you want to tap in to and find a mounting location.

I asked Jeff to get me the marker lights in a white LED so I could use them as back up indicators, instead of turn signals or markers. They are slightly more expensive in white (as most LED's are), but not much.

I cut 2 3/4" holes in the 3.5" panel that is directly below the tailgate and above the bumper. I figure with the recessed lights, they should be MOSTLY out of harms way there. Then I fished the wiring over to either outboard side and out the access hole in that boxed section. From there, it was a matter of finding the reverse lighting wires and a... [Read More]
DIY beadlocks
Mar 25, 2009 - 8:31 AM - by Will
Here we go. After building and running Kupe's beadlocks at Harlan last fall, I decided that would be the route I take with my wheels/tires. I run a 36" SX and they are stiff suckers that don't want to bulge at 10lbs of air pressure on non-beadlock wheels so something had to be done. Kupe was kind enough to trade me his steelies off of his street tires for my aluminum wheels that I ran the SXs on.

Here's what one set looks like before any fabbing takes place. You have one wheel, one inner ring and one outer ring.

The next step is the second biggest PIA of the whole process, grinding the powdercoat off of the wheels. If you don't get it completely clean, you're going to be hating... [Read More]

The Big Nasty
Jun 13, 2010 - 11:56 AM - by RenegadeStang
This is an ATV park in Bloomingdale, GA (just outside of Savannah) that the owner is considering expanding to full-size rigs also (he has 1600 acres of land, so I think there'll be room). I went out this past Sunday with a local group (Low Country Mud Rats) to test it out. It was pretty fun. Very different from the wheeling that I'm used to, but it was nice to get off of the pavement for awhile. It's mostly mud, muddy water and dirt hills. Guess I'll have to get used to this South Georgia style of wheeling though.
